the same old line, different day

I haven’t been in the mood to be blogging lately. It seems odd, because I really do enjoy writing and this is one of the only places I get to do it freely (you know, without content restrictions, talking about work-related things, etc.)

Ever since coming back from BlogHer I’ve been going-going-going in Calgary, and I’ve been totally distracted from things that I used to really enjoy doing. Or worse yet, things that I desperately need to finish doing. The office is still not unpacked at home, largely because that’s Thomas’ domain. But he told me he doesn’t much care where things are set up, so the door is open for me to arrange it however I like. Except that I really don’t want to…

But there are boxes that can’t be unpacked until everything in there is set up.

I’ve also been visiting with friends most every day since coming here, and it’s been wonderful to get reacquainted and caught up (but bad for my unpacking endeavours).

Thomas and I went to the zoo almost two weekends ago and I desperately want to blog about it/upload my photos, but the camera has been sitting on our coffee table collecting dust since we got back.

Anyone have an extra kilo of energy to unload? Anyone? I’ll take anything I can get at this point!

Tonight and tomorrow have been put aside as “Kylie get your ass in gear” nights (aside from the Big Brother episode tonight — who will go home?!) so I can finally get our house looking like an actual put-together house. I also want to scrub ALL THE THINGS. As I’m sure I’ve mentioned, our house wasn’t thoroughly cleaned when we moved in (though it was empty, it’s not like there were things everywhere) so we’ve been just living with it since the beginning of the month. It’s starting to wig me out a lot. I want it to feel like mine, especially considering we’ve been there a month. Right now it’s more like all my things are in someone else’s house, which is a weird feeling.

The clutter is also driving. me. insane. I can’t get into the office without stepping around a large box. Arg.

Combine that with the cat discovering a new furry little friend the other day, and I’m even more desperate to bleach anything I can spray; I’m tempted to do the cat as well.
