So, it’s official. I’m on my faux-cation starting today. I say it’s a fauxcation and not a real vacation because while I may be using vacation days at work, I’ll be working to help my uncle and aunt prepare for the influx of family coming from across the country for my grandmother’s memorial service. We’ll all be at the lake, so there will definitely be hijinks all over, but there’s still work to do and a purpose for being there.
I also have to finish off a project at work this weekend as well. I know that if I asked for an extension on the deadline it would probably be fine, but I don’t want to do that. I just want it to be done, you know? So I’ll get the first draft cranked out and then leave it in the hands of my coworkers for the time being until I’m back on the 16th.
I’m looking forward to seeing my family at the lake, even thought it’s for something like a memorial service. My dad’s family is so big and so spread out that it can be difficult for everyone to be in the same place at the same time.
I’m going to take tons of pictures (note to self: charge your D3100!) and bring my journal and write like a maniac by the lake. I’m also going to bring my laptop and my phone, just in case work emergencies (or blogging emergencies) arise and I need to pound out a post or an email.
In between all of this, if I can get some nice colour in my skin I won’t be complaining…
And speaking of skin, the nose piercing is still healing well. No big red bump that comes from infection or irritation, no pain (unless I forget it’s in and go to scratch or wipe at my nose and then POW!), and no problems sleeping. The biggest issue I have is the dryness! My skin is ridiculously dry, and now that I can’t put lotion on that side of my nose it’s all white and flaky. Ick. Hopefully that will pass soon, and I’m getting more comfortable with putting lotion closer (but not on) the piercing as well.
So here’s to the weekend! And the week! And then a whole weekend with Thomas next week! (GOD I miss him.)

I hope you have a fun time at the lake! Hope the nose piercing continues to heal nicely (still jealous, I want one and I need to go and get it done!) and you have a great weekend with Thomas.
Thanks, definitely had a great weekend
And still so far, so good! Go and get the nose done already!
I’m so sorry to hear about your grandmother. I hope you have a wonderful time seeing all of your extended family, and here’s to getting to spend an entire weekend with Thomas!
Thanks Mande
And it was great to see you this weekend too!
