So clearly, I haven’t been blogging lately. Apologies if you subscribe to the feed and were disappointed by my absence, or stopped by here and saw the same blog post on the front page for days on end.
But that last entry is actually why I’ve been so distant. I’m adjusting to a new job, new coworkers, new ways to get to work (I’m walking now, and it’s great!), etc. The other half of that is that it’s my job to geek out on social media all day (YES. I am living the dream, truly!) so it can be hard to motivate myself to do the same when I get home.
I’m feeling pretty great right now though; light lunch, yummy supper (zucchini sticks and a little quinoa risotto), and now a cup of delicious Forever Nuts tea in between a 3km walk to and from the office has me really content. Now it’s just me and the kitties in for the night, since Thomas is working. Going to bed early with a book looks likely.
Other than that, I’m really not up to much. I cooked dinner last night for me and my housemates (otherwise known as K and W, otherwise known as “the girls”), and I devoured the leftovers today (yum). I’ve been trying to make this transition and adjustment as smooth as possible, so it doesn’t leave much time for other things. I’ve gotten W into Nurse Jackie, so we’ll be watching that a lot this month I imagine, and hopefully there’s a trip to Ikea in the future with K.
Honestly, I love my blog and my website and I’ll never abandon it, but I think I might need to take a small break, and reevaluate again just how much I want to divulge. I suck at taking pictures to go along with this content, and I feel like there’s nothing much to talk about anymore. A good old fashioned hiatus may be in order, so I can settle back into my routine and get comfortable with all these other changes that are happening. Also, my foot is still fucked up. Just thought I’d throw that in there. Idiot me keeps forgetting to take my Advil in the morning, so the swelling presses uncomfortably up on shoes and other things. Diving starts next week, so I want this crap resolved ASAP!

I feel you on not wanting to be all over social media and everything after work. I do social media and SEO and content creation all day, and sometimes just don’t even want to see a style sheet or Facebook or WordPress after work. I think taking a bit of time to settle into your new place and your new job would be great.
