just more sleep, please

I slept like a rock last night, and it was more than needed. I think the cold is finally about to kick the bucket, and after more than a week of a head full of snot and lungs that were trying to leap out of my chest, I’m ready to be healthy. It’s about freaking time. Sleeping so late today definitely helped me with that too.

Quick question for you Pinterest people. Have you looked at recipes, pinned them, added the ingredients to your grocery list, then came home and forgot what the heck you wanted to do with that thing you never buy? I’m really hoping it’s not just me…

I pinned this with the intention of making it, but now I have no idea if I have the right ingredients or not…

This will be the theme for the weekend. Cooking, cleaning, and just general relaxation. There’s a little birthday party tonight and breakfast tomorrow on the slate, but I don’t anticipate doing much more than that outside the house. My body is finally recovered and I want to enjoy feeling GOOD. Next week I’ll be back at the gym, I hope, since this month has gone super super poorly with working out. I’ve done basically nothing, but considering the circumstances, I’m going to take that into account and just do better next month.

On the plus side, I should be rid of my credit debt next month. I only have $300 left to pay off, and it’s totally do-able to think that it can be accomplished next month. After that, it’s money into the savings account and lots toward my student loan! I’m feeling really good about this, though.

What are your weekend plans?

  1. I do the Pinterest thing more often than I care to admit. It’s always fun to sit at my laptop and play, “Now what recipe do these ingredients go to?” It’s like a weird matching game.

Congrats on getting your credit card debt almost paid off. That must feel VERY awesome. :)

    • It is like a very strange flip card matching game, especially if you forget just one ingredient and then never recognize what the heck it was *supposed* to be.

And it feels AMAZING to have it almost gone. I’m kind of bummed that it’s come to this point with credit, but at least I’m almost out of it!

We have a Google calendar where we schedule recipes – then we know we just need to go to Pinterest & find it on our “Recipes to try” board. Sooooo simple :)

    • I definitely need to implement a similar system. I’m getting a lot better at budgeting for groceries and cooking new foods, but meal planning is still an epic fail!

  3. I don’t do Pinterest, but I do the old-fashioned, write down recipes/copy them from friends, then buy ingredients and come home and forget what I had planned to do. It’s even worse for veggie dishes because I assure you, some of the tastes that can be created by mixing the wrong stuff DEFINITELY aren’t pleasant. :P

I’m in the exact same place in life as you are right now; paying off credit (I have 110€ exactly to go, and, like in your case, it’s doable!). Congrats :)

As for weekend plans, my plans WERE (since we’re already @ Sunday and 3PM) to play Baldur’s Gate but that didn’t go exactly like I’d envisioned it. So I spent my weekend basically installing, removing, installing, removing, installing… :D Awesome weekend!

    • Congrats to you too! And I know I’ve messed up a couple veggie dishes before and the results are never pleasant.

And I’ve been following the Baldur’s Gate epic story, I’m glad it’s finally working for you lol
