This was, as the title states, a great weekend.
Friday night, Thomas and I hosted a few friends and had a mini-party. Rum was consumed, white cheddar popcorn (or Crack Corn, according to Erin, Thomas’ sister. I’m inclined to agree!) was eaten, and I think a good time was had by all.

Thomas was off on a weekend for the first time in a long time, so we had a date night on Saturday. We saw Les Miserables in a matinee, and then headed out for dinner afterward. The movie was freaking incredible, and even if you’re not a fan of musicals, it’s worth checking out. The singing took me about 30 minutes to really get used to, but then Anne Hathaway totally stole the show with her song. That’s when I really fell in love with the movie. After dinner, Thomas went home to have some time with his brother who came to our place, and I went to my boss’ party.
The party was awesome! So much food everywhere, and the Xbox Kinect was busted out and a dance party ensued. I now have some pretty hilarious videos if I should ever need to bust it out.
However, something I ate yesterday was just not agreeing with me. Today was filled with an upset stomach and bloated guts, and now that I know I have a delayed reaction to wheat it could have been anything over the last day or two. Sigh. If I knew what was doing this to me, I’d avoid it! (Other than wheat, that is.)

I’ve already finished the first book on top
I picked up some library books this afternoon, and then had a friend over for tea, dinner and a movie. Definitely a solid and relaxing Sunday.
I also took some more photos of the city and our cats — my two favourite subjects.

How was your weekend?

You’ve got a very social cat in the second photo! Ours hide from guests and can occasionally be coaxed out if the cats know a visitor very well.
“…and even if you’re not a fan of musicals, it’s worth checking out.”
I keep hearing that about musicals made in the last few years. Of course, I like musicals as a general rule, but I think they’re starting to be considered movies just like any other movie in a given genre. Like Sweeney Todd was considered more of a horror/gore/Tim Burton movie than a musical.
We still need to see Les Miserables, though.
It’s definitely more musical than some of the “musicals” that have been out lately. It’s 90% singing, I’d say, which was hard to get used to lol
Definitely watch
True, a lot of them have been dramas with a few songs thrown in, Disney-style. Will do.
