And who the heck are you?
I’m Kylie, but most know me online as kayjer. My fifth grade teacher made that nickname up for me, and every time I’m stuck on a username it’s been my default. I live in Calgary, Alberta, and I love it here! I’m 24 years old, and was born in Vancouver BC in 1988. I have an awesome family (mother, father and brother) and some friends who have become family.

I live with my boyfriend, Thomas, and our two ridiculous cats Luongo and Luna. We have a happy life here, and I wouldn’t change it for anything.
and what do you do? what do you like?
I work for a marketing/advertising agency in Calgary, and I love my job. I write social media content and work with clients to decide how to best approach their online presence and messaging. I also freelance as a writer and editor, and if you’d like more information about me or my rates, please drop me an email!
I have a few interests and hobbies as well. I took a photojournalism class or three in university, and I love getting the perfect shot with my camera. I have a lot of loose leaf tea and love sitting down at the end of the day with a hot cup. Coffee is the perfect way to start the morning though, I gotta say.
I’m just getting into running, and it’s been interesting learning my limits and what I’m capable of. I also LOVE wine, and splitting a bottle with my girls at the end of the day is the perfect way to unwind and relax (especially after a run). Potato chips are my vice, and I love all things spicy and salty.
I’ve decided to forgo eating gluten. Gluten’s a topic that’s been getting a lot of media attention lately, and after doing some research and reading of my own I thought I’d give it a try. Turns out, I’m a much happier and more pleasant person without wheat in my life. Regardless of whether or not I have celiac disease, this is something that’s working for me so I’m going to continue down this path and see where it takes me.

“There is an inverse relationship between how much fun something is, and how good it is for you.” — Calvin and Hobbes (by Bill Watterson)

“Roses are red, violets are blue, fuck you whore.” — 500 Days of Summer
“Think of a rock polisher, one of those drums, goes round and round, rolls twenty-four/seven, full of water and rocks and gravel. Grinding it all up. Round and round. Polishing those ugly rocks into gemstones. That’s the Earth. Why it goes around. We’re the rocks. And what happens to us–the drama and pain and joy and war and sickness and victory and abuse–why, that’s just the water and sand to erode us. Grind us down. To polish us up, nice and bright.” — Chuck Palahniuk, from Haunted.
